Discussion

• ChimeraX 1.10.1 patch release
  • profile grid crashing on Windows, got bug report today. Eric reproduced it. Will try to fix for 1.10.1.
  • Tristan notes OpenMM in Linux ChimeraX 1.10 does not support CUDA, needs openmm-cuda-12 package. Need to check if that needs huge nvidia libraries.
  • Discuss on Thursday if 1.10.1 release is ready.
  • Zach started release candidate preview build today.

• Switch PyQt to PySide?
  • Need to switch soon if we hope to use it in December ChimeraX release.
  • We will make tech-preview version with PySide for us to try. Then we can put it in daily build if works ok.
  • Tom says he will but Boltz 2 affinity prediction in daily build and announce. Don't want hundreds of PySide downloads if it is broken in some way.

• Update Python
  • Greg will update to Python 3.11.x latest patch with binaries available.

• Update prereqs
  • We will update ChimeraX prereqs after 1.10.1 release is out.
  • Leave numpy at v1 instead of v2 since we will try PySide and don't want too many update problems going on at the same time.
