Sequence, Structure, Literature, and People Databases

Sequence Databases

Protein and DNA sequence databses, including primary, secondary, curated, motif, and domain databases, are available for browsing, homology, and comparison searching through CGL's Sequence Analysis & Consulting Service. Some of the sequence databases are:

  • GenBank
  • GenPept
  • Swiss-Prot
  • Trembl
  • In addition, we support BLAT servers for the mouse and human genomes.

    Structure Databases

We maintain a local copy of the Protein Data Bank, the major macromolecular structure database primarily determined experimentally by X-ray crystallography and NMR.

    Literature Databases

Access to extensive literature databases are available through UCSF's GALEN II digital library system. This includes a customized interface to the MEDLINE database known as PubMed@UCSF. Over 100 major electronic journals are now accessible on-line, and there is also a growing collection of "Ejournals" available from the California Digital Library.

    People Databases

An on-line directory service is available for finding people at UCSF.
