[Chimera-users] multiple Chimera sessions on Mac

Hi Vladimir,
We just ran a test on Yosemite and didn't have any problem doing this. Chimera was installed in Applications, so we opened two Terminal windows, and in each one, entered:

/Applications/Chimera.app/Contents/MacOS/chimera

… resulting in two running instances of Chimera. The main thing is to substitute in the correct path and app name depending on where you installed Chimera and whether you changed its name.

I'm not sure what you didn't mean by "doesn't work," however.

There are general instructions for starting from the command line here:
<http://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/UsersGuide/startup.html>

Creating aliases as described in that earlier chimera-users post is only for convenience as a typing shortcut, but it's not necessary.
I hope this helps,
Elaine
