In the commandline,

$ which sparky
/usr/local/bin/sparky

$ ls -ltr /usr/local/bin/sparky
lrwxrwxrwx. 1 root root 45 Oct 9 21:21 /usr/local/bin/sparky
- /usr/local/src/nmrfam-sparky-linux/bin/sparky

Then, you can see that Oct 9 was the day the program was installed.
