Usage:
label atom-spec

Usage:
~label atom-spec

Label displays identifiers for atoms and residues. The atom-spec may include any atoms, residues or models. The residue number and residue name appear after the first labeled atom in a residue.

Examples:

label #2:his@ca
- label the alpha carbons of all histidine residues in model 2
~label #2:40
- undisplay atom labels within residue 40 in model 2

A different approach may be useful if temporary labeling of a single atom or bond is desired for quick identification: if Show atomspec balloon is set to true in the General preferences, placing the cursor close to an atom or bond will cause the corresponding label information to appear and remain until the cursor is moved away.

Note that label does not label bonds or pseudobonds. One way to label a bond or pseudobond is to select it and use the Selection Inspector to create or change its label.
