Shouldn't require much (i.e. no re-compilation) - just put the GCC 4.9 stdc++ libraries from http://marlovitslab.imba.oeaw.ac.at/lab//chimerax/libstdc++-gcc49-centos7.tar.gz in ChimeraX's lib directory.

If you also put libbz2.so.1.0 in there (as a symlink to /usr/lib64/libbz2.so.1) it would get Matplotlib running properly without the need for the user to mess around.
