Source executes a command file, automatically updating the display after each line as needed. Multiple commands can be combined into a single line with semicolons (;) to suppress the appearance of intermediate states.
The related command read does not perform automatic updates and is intended for executing scripts that accomplish some end result rather than continuous display.
