25th Anniversary UNIX® Playing Cards
The year 1994 was the 25th anniversary of UNIX, and as part of the
celebrations held during the Summer 1994 USENIX conference in Boston, a
commemorative deck of playing cards was created. Each playing card had
a picture and the name of a UNIX contributor. The intent was that this
be a small way to honor the contributors, including both well known and
lesser known UNIX personalities, and it was a fun collector's item for
the attendees. Evi Nemeth coordinated the production of the card deck,
and a committee consisting of J.R. Oldroyd (it was his idea), Dennis
Ritchie, Kirk Mckusick, Keith Bostic, and Margo Seltzer nominated people
to be included on each card. Here's what the front and back of the
