Hi Marco,

did you try to run sparky directly from the directory you put it in?

e.g.

cd /usr/local/sparky/bin/ (or whereever you put sparky)
./sparky

So if sparky runs now you may have a problem with your PATH variable. Make sure you put a link to the sparky binary in a directory that is part of your PATH (e.g. I use /usr/local/bin – but youd have to tell this).

To set the PATH appropriately, please refer to the manual of your shell. I keep forgetting how you do it in a tcshell, Id have to look that up.

Cheers
Martin

Dear all,

I just got sparky on a laptop running ubuntu12.04 but, after unpacking and moving to the bin directory the command sparky says
sparky: Command not found
but is present...
I also used
sparky-no-python
but same result. And I have python2.7 installed.

The laptop is quite old (about 5 years, HP dv6700 series). It could be the reason for which sparky has problem?
Its very unusual since Sparky works everywhere...

Thanks,
Marco
