Hi Christian,

The problem most likely is that your system does not have a 32-bit
X11 library.

Some 64-bit Linux distributions no longer include 32-bit libraries.
Sparky is only available for 32-bit linux. You will need to install
32-bit X11 libraries for Sparky to work.

Sparky could be compiled for 64-bit linux but the process is a
somewhat complicated. I am hoping to simplify the Sparky compilation to
be a simple configure ; make install perhaps in the next month
primarily to help people who want to modify Sparky code. At that point
it would be simple to make a 64-bit Linux Sparky distribution.

Hello,
I have tried to run sparky on a PC 64 bit runing debian lenny 5.0.4
It failed and I got this error message:

error while loading shared libraries: libX11.so.6: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory

But I have:
ls libX11* -l
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1965874 sep 25 2008 libX11.a
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 avr 15 11:51 libX11.so - libX11.so.6.2.0
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 15 avr 14 14:41 libX11.so.6 - libX11.so.6.2.0
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1096880 sep 25 2008 libX11.so.6.2.0

Sparky runs fine on a PC 32bit runing Debian Lenny 5.0.4
libX11.so.6 is located at the same place with the same permission.

Is the problem due to 64bit PC?
Do you have any solution.

Thank you in advance for help.
