Hi Victor,

I tried the Sparky Intel Mac 10.4 version (sparky-mac10.4-intel.dmg)
on Mac OS 10.6.1 and did not encounter any crashes. I did find that that
Sparky distribution contains a PPC binary called xtest by mistake. I
put the correct Intel processor xtest binary in the distribution on the
Sparky web site. You might want to try that.

It could be that the PPC xtest binary is the cause of the crashes you
observe. Sparky tries to run a program called xtest to see if the X
server is running. That caused Mac OS to try to run it with the PPC
emulator called Rosetta which was not installed on my Mac OS 10.6.1
system. That made it want my password so it could install Rosetta from
the web. Bad. If xtest is not able to connect to the X window server
than it tries to start the X server. That could cause the trouble you
observe. Ive heard reports of Sparky failing when it has to start the
X server, rather than letting Mac OS start the X server.

Tom

I have downloaded

Mac OS 10.4.11 Intel sparky-mac10.4-intel.dmg 3.115 5/30/08

But it starts but crashes on most commands from the menus.
I have MacBook Pro Intel CoreDuo with MacOSX 10.6 Snow Leopard.
