Unfortunately it is a bit of trouble to change the Sparky background
color. Heres some discussion of that.

Dear Tom,

Is it possible to change the background colour in Sparky to white? Ive
searched the manual but cant seem to find whether it can be done.

Best regards,

Hi Steffen,

You can change the background color on Sparky spectrum windows by
editing the sparky/lib/Sparky file that comes with the program. The
line to change is

Sparky*View.drawing.drawingBackground: black

You have to restart Sparky after the change. Unfortunately there is
no way to switch the color back and forth while running Sparky. This
is on the requested features list.

If you do not want to modify the installed Sparky file, you can put
the new spectrum background color in your ~/.Xdefaults file. See the
Miscellaneous section of the Sparky manual where it describes how to
change font size in this way.

Sorry to bug you one more time. This worked for the background, but the
cursor still remains white. Happens both in the Linux and Mac OSX version.
I cant seem to find any reference to the colour white in the Sparky file.

Hi Steffen,

I looked at the Sparky code and the crosshair color is
hardcoded to be white. One way to work around this limitation
might be to set the background color to gray instead of white.
If the white crosshair is difficult to see there are other choices
like DimGray. The full list of colors is in a file called rgb.txt that
comes with the X server. On one unix system I tried this file
is located at /usr/lib/X11/rgb.txt. Ive added settable crosshair
color to the request list.

Dear all,

a simple (I hope) question: it is possible to change the black color of
the screen in a different one, white for example? I have a titration
with 8 spectra and black gives some problems for some colors, white
should be nicer.
thanks a lot
