Well,
a new installation did not solve the problem. Still slow like hell ....when I zoom in it becomes faster and faster as obviously..less data points...
When I try the sparky-no-python, it reports back the following:
Error: couldt open c:Program Filessparkylibsparky : no such file or directory.

But in the file exists in the directory...I dont get it.
any suggestions
cheers

Hi,

I have sparky running in XP and Fedoracore2 on a dualboot machine. Clearly the linux OS beats the xp in speed however the xp velocity is still ok for daily use. I aggre with Henry, that after saving and chaging the contours it will be faster ...

could you please (or someone else) give a try in installing and
running Sparky on Windows XP?

Its really puzzling because none of other programs take this long to
refresh with same data spec.

Ive got it running in XP without any problems. I guess your problem
may only have to do with first time loading of the spectrum, when the
contour levels etc are not defined? Just load the spectrum .ucsf file
and change the contour levels ct shortcut. Put the lowest level well
above the noise level and in case of large differences in peak hights
in your spectrum (water or addons?) define the factor to a higher
value (and or decrease the number of levels). Than save the spectrum
.save . Next time load this .save file and things should go much faster...
Hope this helps.

Henry
