the sparky startup file is a c-shell script, which setup the
envrionment variables for sparky.
my chimera is the beta, version 1 build 2065 and is install in :
/home/chang/Software/chimera/bin/chimera
But in the sparky startup file(/usr/local/bin/sparky, the c-shell
script), we should set the variable $CHIMERA to
/home/chang/Software/chimera, like the following:
setenv CHIMERA /home/chang/Software/chimera/
for sparky want to know the chimeras lib path, which is in :
/home/chang/Software/chimera/lib
After set the correct CHIMERA value, I use the km to start chimera
extension, load a pdb file, and press Show button. Another error
messege appear:
/home/chang/Software/chimera/share/chimeraInit.py line 52,
def init(argv, nogui=False, nostencil=False, stereo=False,
bgopacity=False,
NameError: name False is not defined
I now try to decipher its meaning and correct it.

setting the environment variable CHIMERA to the chimera install
directory either in the sparky startup file, or in your .cshrc or
.bashrc file should be sufficient. What version of chimera and what
version of sparky have you attempted this with in the past? I have
downloaded and tested sevral chimera versions with sparky 3.110

Maybe I need to change some environment variable and have a try.
