Hi Eiso,
You may have a headless Save file for one of the spectra in your project. Such file will be missing the view section. You may load the project in Sparky and use pv to show/hide each spectrum one by one to figure out the culprit. If you find that this was causing the crash, edit the currupt Save file in text editor and insert the missing section.
Hope this helps.
Best regards

To get back to this...

I get sudden crashes of sparky, latest version (not coredumps
as I thought earlier) with a single Abort message in the shell
were sparky was started. Its a local machine with centos-6 and the
data is on a local disk so no network issues I would expect.
Nothing special as far as I can tell, except that it has
quite a lot of spectra (~25) opened.

I know that its hard to say anything useful with this amount
of info but any ideas are appreciated...

Eiso

Hi Eiso,

It is difficult to figure the problem out with given backgrounds, however, let
me guess...
Are the files related to your project are in the network file system?

Thanks,
Woonghee

Hi Woonghee,

We are getting coredumps with the latest version of sparky
on linux (centos 6/7).

Is there any thing we can do to figure out what is going wrong?

Also (unrelated) in some case suddenly saving the files is refused.
It looks like in the background the .save files are already move
to .save.BAK so the open savefiles have disappeared. If one
removes on spectrum from the project saving works again, but
usually only for a while until the same problem appears.

any ideas ? or did anyone see his before?

best wishes,

Eiso
